Fans want a worthy and final ending to the toys' story before it trips and damages itself permanently, and five just seems like a good number to do that. Disney has a bad habit of speeding through franchises until they hit a bad bump and then abandoning them entirely, and that might happen to Toy Story. But with Toy Story 5 and several shorts after the third, fans are concerned that Disney will never let the franchise rest. Many fans still hold that Toy Story 3 was the perfect ending to the classic and beloved franchise, and many agree that Toy Story 4 was also a great and loving addition that tied up loose ends from the previous films, expanded the franchise's message of moving on, and was overall a nice place to stop. Here is what we want to see in Toy Story 5. Though it was inevitable that more sequels would come with a company like Disney in control, we can still hope that Pixar will work its usual magic to accomplish all our wishes yet again. The green light for Toy Story 5 has been met with largely negative reaction from fans, citing the project is a cash grab by Iger, and after the two perfect endings in the two previous films, there's simply no need to return to our favorite playthings, at risk of ruining what is possibly the most perfect movie series ever.
Fans are happy with a Frozen sequel, though not so much a yet another Toy Story one.
When Bob Iger reclaimed Walt Disney's throne and empire as Disney CEO just last year, he also charged by the House of Mouse to reverse the company's downhill trend and make the gargantuan entertainment conglomerate profitable again and so Iger has announced (in almost same breath that 7,000 employees are being laid off) a mini-slew of sequels, including Frozen 3 and Toy Story 5, to turn things around.
